Tk 3.4 crore toll has been collected from vehicles crossing the Padma Bridge in 18 hours during the Eid-ul-Azha holiday.

“A total of 32,155 vehicles have crossed Padma Bridge generating toll revenue of Tk 33,976,300 in the last 18 hours till 6pm today,” said its Executive Engineer Abu Sayed.
According to sources at the Padma Bridge site office, vehicle movement remained normal at the toll plaza even on the day before Eid.
Of the total, 22,575 southbound vehicles crossed through the Mawa end, generating Tk 20,919,500 in tolls. Meanwhile, 9,580 vehicles heading toward Dhaka crossed through the Jazira end, generating Tk 13,056,800.

He said Eid travelers from 21 southern districts are using the Padma Bridge on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway comfortably without major suffering.
As there is no significant traffic congestion or travel disruption, more passengers are choosing the expressway this year, he added.
