Former Local Government, Rural Development, and Cooperatives Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan has joined the National Citizen Party (NCP).
However, he will not take part in the upcoming 13th parliamentary elections, slated for February 12, 2026.
Asif Mahmud will act as the head of NCP’s Election Management Committee, NCP senior joint convener Ariful Islam Adib confirmed on Monday evening.
Asif Mahmud resigned from the interim government on December 10. He registered as a voter of the Dhaka-10 constituency.
