A bus heading to Barguna from Dhaka has been robbed on the Barguna-Barishal regional highway.
The robbery occurred at Galachipa at around 3am on Tuesday (March 25).
Hemayet Uddin Biswas, one of the passengers on the Imran Paribahan bus, said the robbers blocked the road using tree trunks and stopped three buses.
They attacked the Imran Paribahan bus and snatched valuables from the passengers.
Police later went to the scene but the robbers had fled by then.
Barguna Sadar Police Station’s in-charge Joglul Hasan said they rescued the passengers and brought them to the police station. “Further legal actions will be taken,” he said.
