I swear, the internet will never be shut down: Tayyab

Faiz Ahmed Tayyab, Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor on Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, has vowed that the internet will never be shut down in the country again.

Faiz Ahmed Tayyab said that a plan has been taken to provide Starlink internet connections to backward areas, including areas at risk of coastal flooding.

At that time, he said, “The internet was shut down across the country on July 17 last year. Today, on the occasion of the anniversary, I swear that the internet will never be shut down in Bangladesh again.”

The Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor on Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology also said that amendments are being made to the Telecommunications Act so that no one can shut down the internet in the future.
